TCAL is Moving to a New Campus…
That’s right, TCAL is heading to a new home. At our 5th Anniversary Celebration, Lead Pastor Paul Mints, made the BIG announcement that God has provided an incredible new home for TCAL. He also shared that we will be moving from meeting in the school to the new campus in one month. While we have been planning to begin building in 2012 on our current property, God has stepped in and provided something much sooner than we anticipated, at half the price.
This is truly is remarkable work of God that we are all excited about.

FAQ's About the New TCAL Campus:
Where is the new campus and what is the size?
The new campus is located at 1151 Mansfield Webb Road, Arlington, TX. It has been the home of Koinonia Church for the last several years, and they will be moving to a new home at HWY 360 & Green Oaks. It is presently owned by Walnut Ridge who partnered with several other churches to build the campus seven years ago for a church they planted called Rockway (which is now called 412 Church), and then consequently began leasing it to Koinonia.
The campus is right at 12 acres, and there is an option in the future for an additional 8 acres.
The total square footage of the buildings is just under 18,500 sq.ft., and the auditorium has a seating capacity of 460What is it that makes this location so attractive for TCAL?
Here is a list of a handful of reasons we believe God has given us the opportunity to have this new campus at this time.
- It is less than three minutes from our current meeting place on Sundays.
- It allows us to stay right here in the same neighborhood that we have been anchored in the last five years.
- It is less than a mile from five different MISD schools and next door to Ima Jean Gideon, Elementary.
- There is a park directly across from it where hundreds of families gather throughout the week and weekends, and it is currently undergoing a 1.5 million dollar expansion for it to be even a better place for people from the community to gather.
- It provides for our growth needs with a 460 seat auditorium, great children’s space, and more.
- It sits on more land than we currently own – 12 acres w/option for 8 more (ours is 10).
- It is the same square footage we have been planning to build at half the price, and it is available.
Why can’t we stay in the school?
The school has been a great place for us to meet over these past five years, but we cannot stay there. The MISD only contracts with churches to use their schools for a limited number of years, and we have been blessed to have two one-year extensions. Our current contract runs out in June 2012.
What will we do with our current property?
God has blessed us over the last 3 ½ years with an incredible piece of property that has been our home base for ministry. While we have anticipated it being where we would build our first facilities, it appears now it was a tool for ministry God gave us until He would lead us to this new campus. While we would like to keep it for continued and future ministry opportunities, all wisdom leads us towards selling it and to focus on fully utilizing the new campus God is giving us. Therefore our plans are to put it on the market, and upon selling it the equity will be used to help with the funding for the new campus.
Will this be our permanent home?
We are confident God is giving us this new campus as a place to have a significant footprint to touch and impact the community. With that said, at TCAL in order to stay focused on RESCUE (the Great Commission), our DNA is to always be a church planting church, both by helping plant other churches and by planting other TCAL campuses. We have every intention to lay our stakes down at this new campus for years to come, and at the same time be open and looking for where God wants us to grow in the right time to continue the RESCUE.
Will we still have multiple services?
Yes, we will always anticipate having multiple services, as it is the best way to be good stewards of the space God has given us, and make room for more people to experience worship with us.
How will we handle the increased financial responsibility?
There is no doubt this new campus puts an increased financial responsibility on TCAL. We have anticipated that coming as we were looking towards building our first facility next year. This new campus actually helps us be much better stewards than if we were to have built as this campus will be HALF THE PRICE compared to the cost of building on our current land. As long as the community of faith at TCAL is faithful to give God His tithe (Malachi 3:10 ) and are a part of our So Others May Live Initiatives, we will have more than enough resources to take care of our needs and be able to do the ministry God calls us to.
How will we be able to purchase this new campus?
After our successful So Others May Live 3 Initiative in the spring, and when we find a buyer for our current property, we believe those two things will allow us to purchase this new campus as our home within the next 12 months.
When will we have our first service at the new campus?
December 4th is the Sunday we are planning to be able to have our first service at the new campus. The original date for our first service was November 6th, but has been changed to December 4th.
How can I help be a part of this important time of transition at TCAL?
